Freedom Fest back in S. Jacksonville
Jacksonville Journal Courier | June 26, 2021
South Jacksonville is reviving its annual Freedom Fest at the Firehouse celebration.
This year’s edition will be Sept. 11, according to South Jacksonville Mayor Tyson Manker.
The all-day music festival will feature 12 hours of live music provided by seven area bands — Exit 52, Fun DMC, Smashtag, Baaad Boyz, 4 County Blues, Gabe Marshall and NEONMOMS.
While the music will be contained to Sept. 11, the celebration will run throughout the weekend, with activities including the traveling World War II Memorial, a Little Miss pageant, a 5K run and a barbecue cook-off with a $1,000 prize donated by Manker.
Proceeds from the event will support the village’s fire and police departments. The firehouse is at 1810 Sequoia Drive.
“Come celebrate being an American and living free in the village of South Jacksonville,” Manker said.
